Gomoa Central MP A-Plus Denies Bribery Allegations Linked to NSS Scandal

Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus, and the current Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, has strongly denied allegations that he received payment to influence investigations into the National Service Secretariat (NSS) scandal.

In an official statement issued on Friday, A-Plus dismissed the claims as false and defamatory, clarifying that he has never been involved in any attempt to manipulate investigations or obstruct justice in the matter.

Claims Traced to Fake Social Media Account

The MP stated that the allegations originated from a fake social media account impersonating him. He warned the public against falling victim to misinformation and urged social media users to verify sources before sharing or believing such claims.

“I want to make it clear that I have never received any money to influence any investigation, including the NSS issue,” the MP said.

“The post making the rounds is fake and was published by an account that is fraudulently using my identity.”

A-Plus Calls for Accountability and Cyber Vigilance

A-Plus further stated that his legal team is considering action against the individuals or groups behind the impersonation.

He called on the Cyber Security Authority and other relevant agencies to track and prosecute online impersonators, noting that such activities not only damage reputations but also undermine democratic discourse.

Background: NSS Scandal Resurfaces

The National Service Secretariat has in the past been the subject of controversial investigations involving alleged ghost names, procurement fraud, and mismanagement. The recent resurgence of public interest in the matter appears to have reopened old wounds, with various actors now being drawn into the spotlight.

However, A-Plus reiterated that he has no connection to the scandal and views the impersonation and resulting allegations as a deliberate attempt to tarnish his political image.

Conclusion: A-Plus Reaffirms Integrity Amid Political Noise

As Ghana approaches a heated election year, the MP urged citizens and the media to prioritize truth and integrity. He reaffirmed his commitment to transparency, accountability, and serving the people of Gomoa Central without compromise.
