Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has vehemently denied allegations of corruption and dismissed claims that he has gone into hiding to evade prosecution under President John Dramani Mahama’s administration.
In an interview on Wontumi TV on February 20, 2025, Abronye DC refuted accusations suggesting he is avoiding potential legal action. He asserted his innocence, stating he has committed no wrongdoing warranting investigation by the current government.
Abronye DC issued a stern warning that if any government agencies attempt to target him with unfounded corruption allegations, he will personally enter the Jubilee House, the seat of government, to caution the president against such actions. He emphasized his readiness to face any legal proceedings, confident that he would be acquitted due to his clear conscience.
He further clarified that he has never held any government contract under President Akufo-Addo’s administration that could subject him to financial misconduct investigations. Abronye DC expressed concern over the behavior of some appointees in the current administration, suggesting that their actions, including those of the president, might lead to the downfall of the government.
These statements come in response to rumors that Abronye DC has been evading prosecution. His remarks underscore his willingness to confront any allegations head-on and challenge any attempts to tarnish his reputation.
