NPP’s ‘Thank You’ tour hasn’t turned ‘chaotic’ – Salam Mustapha

National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha, has dismissed claims that the party’s ongoing “Thank You” tour has descended into chaos, calling such assertions completely unfounded.

This follows controversy surrounding the tour, which has drawn criticism over remarks made by former presidential candidate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. Additionally, former presidential aspirant Kennedy Agyapong withdrew from the tour after a KNUST student was reportedly stabbed during one of its sessions.

Speaking in an interview on Channel One Newsroom on Saturday, May 3, Mustapha firmly rejected the idea that the tour, designed to express gratitude to party supporters and energise the grassroots, has been plagued by disorder.

“Not at all [things have not become chaotic]. It cannot be chaotic. Absolutely not, it cannot be chaotic. It is not chaotic,” he insisted.

He emphasised that the tour is in line with the NPP’s long-standing traditions and has always been conducted in a structured and orderly fashion.

“On any account, at any material point in time, the NPP has done thank you tours—this is not new,” he said.
