Adum Fire: Simmering fire and smoke visible in rubble a day after devastating inferno

A day after a devastating fire at the Blue Light Arena in Adum, Kumasi, there is visible fire and smoke in the rubbles.

The commercial hub housing shops selling mobile phones, accessories, jewellery, clothing, and second-hand goods, recorded one of the major fire disasters in Kumasi.

An excavator breaking into shops perceived to have had less impact from the fire to make way for the fire service personnel to throw in more water.

Scores of shops have been left in rubble, and metal contains burnt into scraps.

Victims who got injured and suffered panic attacks received treatment and were later rushed to the Manhyia Government Hospital and the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

According to the National Ambulance Service, at least nine people, including firefighters, sustained injuries, while others were left traumatized in the fire outbreak.

Ashanti Regional Manager of the Service, Sommik Duut Millon, says victims who got injured and suffered panic attacks received treatment and were later rushed to the Manhyia Government Hospital and the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

“Feedback from the hospitals indicates that the victims are responding well to treatment, with some already discharged,” he stated.
