Legal practitioner Bernard Bediako Baidoo of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has won the highly anticipated Akwatia by-election, securing victory in a closely contested race.

    • Bernard Bediako Baidoo (NDC): 18,199 votes (~54%)
    • Solomon Kwame Asumadu (NPP): 15,235 votes
    • Owusu Patrick (Liberal Party of Ghana): 82 votes

Baidoo’s win reclaims the constituency for the NDC, which previously lost it in the 2024 general elections by a narrow margin of about 2,063 votes.
