For three electrifying days, the Ahanta land came alive with thrilling football, vibrant cultural displays, and a renewed spirit of community during the highly successful Ahanta SportyFest 2025. Organized by the Member of Parliament for Ahanta West, Hon. Mavis Kuukua Bissue, the event drew massive crowds and united communities in an unforgettable celebration.
Eight determined football teams competed fiercely, but it was Grotto FC that triumphed, lifting the trophy and writing their name in local sporting history.
The festival, which ran from Friday through Sunday, served as more than just a tournament—it was a platform for showcasing young talent, promoting unity, and celebrating Ahanta’s rich heritage.

The event saw the participation and support of notable dignitaries and football legends, including:
- Hon. Kofi Adams, Minister for Sports and Recreation
- John Paintsil, former Black Stars defender and current Deputy Coach
- Coach Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo and Coach Yusif Basigi, celebrated icons in Ghanaian football
- Samuel Anim Addo, Manager of Asamoah Gyan and youth football advocate
- ING. Ebenezer Aidoo, MCE for Ahanta West
- Traditional authorities and chiefs, whose presence honored and blessed the event
- NDC Party executives and grassroots supporters who rallied in full strength
🏆 Rewards and Recognition
To motivate excellence and nurture sporting dreams, cash prizes and official jersey sets were awarded to the top four teams, with Grotto FC earning top honors. Every match was met with roaring applause from hundreds of fans, proving once again that football is the heartbeat of the Ahanta people.
