A Kingdom Encounter Across Continents: Ghana’s Apostolic Leaders Connect with American Evangelical Icon

In a remarkable moment of global Kingdom connection, Rev. Stephen Wengam, General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, and Rev. Eastwood Anaba, President of the Eastwood Anaba Ministries, paid a high-profile courtesy call on internationally renowned televangelist Rev. Dr. Rod Parsley at his ministry base in Columbus, Ohio, USA.

The visit, which took place at World Harvest Church, the global headquarters of Rev. Parsley’s extensive ministry network, marks a significant step in fostering deeper ties between African and American evangelical ministries, while celebrating shared visions for revival, leadership, and apostolic impact in the body of Christ.

A Meeting of Apostolic Giants

Rev. Rod Parsley — a seasoned preacher, author, and broadcaster — is widely respected across the world for his dynamic preaching, healing crusades, and educational work through Valor Christian College. He has mentored and influenced millions over the past four decades through his television broadcast “Breakthrough”, aired globally across major networks.

The meeting with Rev. Wengam and Rev. Anaba was described by observers as more than ceremonial; it was deeply spiritual, prophetic, and strategic. The three ministers discussed global evangelism, cross-cultural collaboration, and the future of Pentecostal leadership in the face of rising global challenges.

“There is a sound coming from Africa — and we must hear it,” Rev. Parsley said passionately during the meeting. “God is raising a fresh generation of leaders from the continent, and I am honored to connect with brothers who carry the fire of revival and truth.”

Strengthening the Global Church

During the interaction, Rev. Wengam shared insights into the growth and structure of the Assemblies of God, Ghana — one of the largest Pentecostal movements on the continent — as well as the denomination’s renewed focus on evangelism, discipleship, and leadership development.

He highlighted the transformational work being done through initiatives such as Vision 2033, which aims to raise a new wave of ministers and missionaries across Ghana and beyond. Rev. Anaba, in turn, spoke about his ministry’s commitment to spiritual renewal and the empowerment of Christian leaders through teaching, fasting, and revival gatherings.

“It’s time for the Church to look beyond borders,” Rev. Anaba noted. “Our message is global, and our mission is urgent. This meeting is a sign that the body of Christ is rising as one, not separated by geography, but united by the Spirit.”

Honoring Legacy, Embracing the Future

The leaders exchanged gifts, shared prayers, and took time to reflect on the importance of transgenerational leadership and apostolic mentorship. Rev. Parsley encouraged the Ghanaian delegation to continue building strong theological foundations and boldly proclaiming truth in a world hungry for clarity and hope.

“Legacy is not just what we leave behind — it’s what we plant today,” he remarked. “Your presence here encourages me, and I believe that our joint efforts will echo far beyond what we see.”

A Prophetic Moment of Prayer

The meeting culminated in a powerful time of prayer and prophetic impartation. Rev. Parsley laid hands on both Rev. Wengam and Rev. Anaba, releasing words of encouragement and declaring open doors for ministry in new territories. In return, the Ghanaian ministers prayed for Rev. Parsley, his health, family, and ministry, declaring continued fruitfulness in this new season.

Photos from the encounter show the three leaders in deep worship and joyful fellowship — a snapshot of unity in Christ that transcends continents, cultures, and generations.

The Way Forward

Following the visit, Rev. Wengam shared his reflections on social media:

“It was a divine appointment. We were deeply blessed and inspired by the wisdom and humility of Rev. Rod Parsley. This is the beginning of something greater — a deeper partnership between the African and global church for the end-time harvest.”

Rev. Anaba echoed similar sentiments, noting that this type of international collaboration is essential for the Church’s mission in today’s rapidly shifting global landscape.

Plans are now underway to explore future collaborations, including exchange programs, leadership summits, and potential ministerial partnerships between Ghanaian churches and ministries affiliated with Rev. Parsley.
